I’m working on a command line emulator for Processing. . . This is somewhat of a useless experiment, and there’s a lot to be done to make it into a fully functional library. . . but at some point, i’ll finish it. . .

Finally had some time to rework the Nature of Code syllabus for Spring 2006. It’s up now here. Fixed the order of a few things that didn’t make sense last time I taught the course. . .
Went to see Mark Napier’s show, Empire, at bitforms gallery yesterday. Mark is teaching a new class at ITP next semester using LWJGL (“lightweight java game library”) as means for exploring OpenGL as an artistic medium. Should be a great extension of the programming courses taught with processing at ITP. . .

So, I’m working on a project at ITP that involves viewer comments on video that are tied to specific points of time in the video. It needs a new title, something less, i dunno, boring. . .

I’ve been getting some e-mails asking about the ol’ ShakespeareMonkey@Home project inquiring about sample source code, etc. My Nature of Code course covers a brief introduction to genetic algorithms and includes a sample applet that evolves the phrase “To be or not to be.”
