The best use of time lapse photography I have seen in a while! Alas, my ants I got for xmas are, uh, expired. I guess it is time to get some new ones. Great job!
hope your ants are thriving, I captured a nest of honey ants (genus?) here for my visualisation/sonification project in March and they went into tunneling immediately, after one week however they slowed to a halt, not just in their tunelling, but in their general interactions. i have deduced this to be the lack of a queen, so I have released them back into the happy world. Instead I have taken a simulated approach to the ant behavours with success in both the visual and audio output.
I will get it posted on my website and refer to it next I visit,
keep up the good work and don’t forget to feed and water your ants.
