I finally receiivd this very fine book today, and after skimming through it-am very excited about going through the whole thing.

It is rare-and I mean like one in a hundred-that you get a book on programming that is lucid and cogent. This book is a glowing exception. Programming isn't that hard. The only thing that makes it hard is programming author's insistence on assuming ANYTHING about the reader.
Make it simple and interesting. This very hard to do and Mr. Shiffman has done this brilliantly!!
