Very cool My graduate project at RIT is in Genetic Algorithms. I've built a system called Artwork Evolution to create abstract original artwork. The user plays the role of selection in choosing what images to rebreed or save. It's on the App Store for iPhone/iPad.

This is great - one thing - the face code needs an import statement to get the rectangle working:
import java.awt.Rectangle;

Daniel, this is the best explanation of genetic algorithms I've found. Many thanks for sharing! Can't wait to get home and try this out myself :)

thank you very much for your sharing.
this artical helps me save lots of time to understand what GA is.
this page is very useful.

hi this is rajiv im a graduate student of engineering. All I wanted to is know whether this code works for implementing XOR using jgap classes for a genetic algorithm using the same logic as mentioned above.

I am graduate student of engineering.
I am willing to use GA for optimization problem.
This website provides me in a clear way the basic understanding of GA and how it can be implemented.
Thanks for this information.
